VITORIA (ACB) - Tau Ceramica have parted company with coach Bozidar Maljkovic, the ACB club confirmed on Wednesday.

The Serbian replaced Velimir Perasovic in March after the latter was forced to step down following a health scare.

Maljkovic, who won four Euroleague titles with Limoges, Panathinaikos and Jugoplastika Split (twice), was unable to guide Tau to any silverware this year.

Tau made it to the ACB play-offs and the Euroleague Final Four but were eliminated at the semi-final stages in both competitions.

Maljkovic's departure comes as no surprise considering that Tau had shown a strong interest in acquiring the services of DKV Joventut coach Aito Garcia Reneses.

However, Garcia Reneses signed a contract extension with Joventut earlier this month.

Former Efes Pilsen coach Oktay Mahmuti is considered the number one candidate to take over at Tau.
