GDYNIA (Olympics) - Spain international Sancho Lyttle still has to pinch herself when she looks back to last year in the Czech Republic when she reached the top of the podium at the FIBA World Championship for Women in her first tournament with the national team.
Lyttle, who will this summer try to help Spain reach the London Olympics with a strong showing at the EuroBasket Women in Poland, made last year's All-Star Five in Karlovy Vary.
It is one of the highest honors she has received as a player.
"It's got to be up there for a first-timer," she said to FIBA.com.
"But I got there because of my team.
"Some opportunities make some people shine and my opportunity took me places I never thought I would get to."
Lyttle is just a month away from playing at the EuroLeague Women Final Four for the first time.
She will travel to Russia and play for Halcon Avenida when the event is hosted by UMMC Ekaterinburg.
