ORENSE (Olympics) – Lithuania put up a good fight for a half but hosts Spain blew them out the rest of the way on Wednesday - the opening night of the Torneo Orense.

Rudy Fernandez and Felipe Reyes each scored 16 points while Juan Carlos Navarro buried four of eight shots from long range on his way to 14 as Spain rolled to a 91-66 victory.

Belarus, Iceland and Portugal had not come close to Lithuania in their previous warm-up games for the Olympics but the world champions were a different story.

Spain led 51-43 at half-time and then took a stranglehold on proceedings over the next 10 minutes when they outscored the Lithuanians 20-12 for a commanding 71-55 advantage.

Spain boss Aito Garcia Reneses saw his men dominate the boards 40-31 and force Lithuania into 22 turnovers.

On Friday, Lithuania play against Argentina while the Albiceleste face Spain the following day.

Mindaugus Lukauskas had 15 points for Lithuania while Sarunas Jasikevicius finshed with 12.
