VALENCIA (ACB) – Pamesa Valencia have parted with Greek coach Fotis Katsikaris.
The ACB side suffered its third defeat in six games on Sunday in an 82-75 home defeat to Ricoh Manresa.
Pamesa Valencia president Manuel Llorente explained why he took the decision.
“I wanted something more and that is why I have taken this decision,” he said.
“It has been a difficult decision but the fact is that at this club, we have all been asleep and we need to wake up.
“I don’t like to win playing badly. We must win or lose fighting and playing intense. I think coaches must be above all demanding.”
Pamesa is the club of rising Spanish star Victor Claver, Greece international Dimos Dikoudis and veteran Shammond Williams, a former NBA point guard.
“I haven’t decided who will replace Katsikaris yet,” Llorente said.
Pamesa are at home to CB Granada on Friday.
