VALENCIA (ACB) – JR Giddens’ stay in Valencia proved to be a short one with Power Electronics announcing on Monday that the American was no longer with the team.

Giddens began the season in Poland with Asseco Prokom but was let go by that club on Christmas day with the outfit having failed to advance to the Euroleague Top 16.

The American had been excited to move to the ACB and to have the chance to play for coach Svetislav Pesic but did not make an appearance with La Taronja.

The club said in a news release: “Valencia Basket Club has informed the player Justin Ray Giddens of the termination of his contract that linked the two to the end of the season. Thus, the player no longer belongs to the squad of Power Electronics Valencia.”

Valencia travel to Istanbul this week for a Euroleague Top 16 game against Fenerbahce.

Both sides are 1-0 in this stage of the competition, with Valencia having beaten BC Zalgiris at La Fonteta and Fener defeating Olympiacos in Athens.
