BARCELONA (Euroleague) - Winterthur FC Barcelona head coach Dusko Ivanovic was less than impressed with his players despite seeing them record an 84-67 Euroleague victory over Zalgiris Kaunas.
The Spanish side lost the third quarter 27-15 to head into the final 10 minutes holding only a seven-point advantage at 64-57.
They did extend the lead in the last quarter to record a more convincing triumph, but Ivanovic was not happy with how his team nearly threw away the initiative.
"I am very upset," he said. "We had the match under control but a disastrous third quarter almost ruined all our hard work.
"It always happens to us and I do not know why, so I cannot find the solution.
"It’s not that we do not know how to attack a zone defense, because we did that very well in the first quarter."
Jonas Maciulis poured in a game-high 18 points but still finished on the losing side, with Michail Kakiouzis and Mario Kasun scoring 15 apiece for the winners.
CSKA Moscow maintained their lead at the summit of Group C after cruising past Pau-Orthez 78-58.
Moscow, who have already qualified for the final 16, were grateful to a 16-point haul from David Vanterpool to see off a spirited fightback in the final quarter from the French outfit.
Also in Group C, Fenerbahce Ulker edged past third-placed Benetton Treviso 70-58, while Aris TT Bank overcame Eldo Napoli 80-72.
Tau Ceramica stormed to a 97-68 Group A win over RheinEnergie, Igor Rakocevic pacing the victors with 22 points.
In Group B, Panathinaikos, who have already qualified for the final 16, recorded their 10th straight win with an 83-74 defeat of bottom side Union Olimpija.
Rudy Fernandez's 26 points set DKV Joventut on their way to an 83-74 victory over Partizan.
