BADALONA (ACB) - Spain international Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca has joined DKV Joventut after being allowed to leave Real Madrid.
The 2.12m center, 24, made his first-team debut with Real as a 17-year-old before going on to impress during a one-year loan spell at CB Gran Canaria in the 2005/06 season.
Last season, Hernandez-Sonseca, who has agreed an initial one-year deal with DKV, helped Real win the ACB and ULEB Cup double.
Hernandez-Sonseca also played for Spain in the build-up to the 2006 FIBA World Championship, but lost out to Marc Gasol for the final place in the 12-man squad which would go on to take gold in Japan.
Real announced the player's departure in a statement on their website, saying: "Real Madrid wish to announce they have reached an agreement with basketball player Eduardo Hernandez-Sonseca for the rescission of his contract.
"The club wishes to thank him for the work he's done and wishes him the best of luck in his new professional endeavour."
