    Marc Gasol's seven boards and 10 points were also crucial to the success.

    Emeterio San (18), Arriel McDonald (10) and Gregor Fucka (10) all made double digit contributions.

    Louis Bullock and Felipe Reyes both scored 22 points in a losing cause for Real while Axel Hervelle (12), Alex Mumbru (11) and Charles Smith (10) also weighed in with important hauls.

    Girona sealed their win in the second quarter, which they took 23-14, while Real took the other three quarters by narrow margins.

    Real slip to 13-1 and are joined on that mark by Tau Ceramica who edged Bruesa GBC 79-76 with a brilliant last quarter.

    The Vitoria-based outfit lost the first period 26-20 but Tau had got back four of those points by half-time.

    However, Bruesa took the third period 21-12 to set up an 11-point lead but Tau came storming back to take the game with a last quarter score of 27-13.

    Michael Bradley top scored with 18 in a losing cause while for Tau Argentinian Olympic gold medal winner Luis Scola was unusually muted with six points in 28 minutes and 12 seconds on court.

    Frederick House poured in 17 for the victors while Tiago Splitter managed 14 and seven boards. Pablo Prigioni (13) and Igor Rakocevic (14) also impressed.

    Akasvayu are third with an 11-3 record while DKV Joventut eclipsed Winterthur Barcelona 78-72 with Lubos Barton having game-high honours with 17 points.

    Etosa Alicante beat Alta Gestion Fuenlabrada 64-61 with Larry Lewis contributing 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.

    Game-high honours went to Gerald Brown who managed 16 points for the losers.
