SEVILLE (EuroBasket 2009) - Great Britain coach Chris Finch didn't hit the panic button on Wednesday night after his team's fourth straight defeat.
Getting ready for their first appearance at the EuroBasket and without injured talisman Luol Deng, Britain suffered an 84-63 setback to Spain in the four nations tournament in Seville.
Last weekend, they fell to Poland, Turkey and Israel in the ‘Game On at the O2’ event and the result was the same against a Spain team they will come up against in Group C at the EuroBasket in Warsaw.
"As I told the guys after the game it's part of a process, it's not going to come together quickly," Finch said.
"I'm pretty confident that in a couple of weeks this team will be a different team."
Robert Archibald and Andy Betts, who both missed all three games in 'Game On at the O2', were in the squad against Spain.
Nate Reinking and Nick George each scored 11 points and Mike Lenzly had 10 for the Brits.
"In the first half we had chances to be in the game but when you play a team of this caliber, they do such a good job at keeping you at bay," said Finch.
"They got a 10-point advantage and then kept us there.
"There were some positives to take out of the game; it was good having Andy and Rob (Archibald) back on the floor plus Nate shot well.
"Rob played well, he was in the right place at the right time. He didn't finish off many plays but this was about getting him out there and getting confidence back.”
Spain veteran Juan Carlos Navarro and big man Marc Gasol scored 17 points apiece in the triumph.
Ricky Rubio finished with 13 points and Rudy Fernandez ended up with 11.
In Wednesday's other game in Seville, Lithuania defeated Slovenia 81-75.
Lithuania center Marijonas Petravicius led the way for the Baltic giants with 16 points.
