    ESP - Gasol, Navarro fire Spain to Valencia title over Sakota's team

    ALICANTE (FIBA World Championship) - Spain grabbed a big early lead against Serbia & Montenegro with Juan Carlos Navarro leading the way and they eventually won 89-62 to clinch the Torneo Comunitat Valenciana. Navarro and Pau Gasol each scored 15 points while Dark Milicic had a game-high 19 in defeat.

    ALICANTE (World Championship) - Spain grabbed a big early lead against Serbia & Montenegro with Juan Carlos Navarro leading the way and eventually won 89-62 to clinch the Torneo Comunitat Valenciana.

    In one short spell in the first half, Navarro erupted for 14 points. Both he and Pau Gasol finished the game with 15 points apiece.

    The Spaniards made 28 of 42 shots (66.6%) inside the arc and outrebounded the Serbo-Montenegrins 39-31.

    Darko Milicic had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Dragan Sakota's team, who lost for the first time all summer.
