ESP - Garcia Reneses commits to Joventut

BADALONA (ACB) - DKV Joventut coach Aito Garcia Reneses has confirmed he will spend another season with the ACB outfit.

Spanish giants Tau Ceramica and Unicaja Malaga had shown an interest in recruiting the the highly-rated tactician.

However, the former Barcelona manager has opted to extend his contract and spend a fifth season leading the Badalona side.

"We consider it a very important fact that Aito will continue in our club," club president Jordi Villacampa said.

"We are delighted. It's evident that both parties wanted the same thing, to have a competitive team, a team that can contend for everything.

"Aito is a key figure in our project."

Joventut fans will now hope that Garcia Reneses' decision to remain will influence Spain international Rudy Fernandez to stay at the club.

Fernandez, who was picked 24th overall by Phoenix in the 2007 NBA draft before being dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers, has yet to decide whether he will stay in Europe next season.
