    MALAGA (ACB) – Unicaja Malaga have signed Spain national team veteran Jorge Garbajosa for the remainder of the season.

    Garbajosa, 33, lost his first-team place at Real Madrid last month and was effectively put on the transfer list.

    He is joining an Unicaja outfit that he played for in 2004-05 before leaving for the NBA’s Toronto Raptors.

    The club will hold a press conference to unveil Garbajosa on Tuesday at 1pm local time at the Palacio de los Deportes Martín Carpena in Malaga.

    Unicaja are battling for a spot in the ACB post-season.

    The club won at home over Bizkaia Bilbao Basket on Saturday night, 92-72, to climb into eighth place in the ACB.

    The top eight sides at the end of the campaign will clinch spots in the play-offs.
