MADRID (2010 FIBA World Championship for Women) - Spain coach Jose Ignacio Hernandez has made his former point guard at Halcon Avenida, Silvia Dominguez, the final cut from the national side that will play at the FIBA World Championship.
Dominguez played at last year’s EuroBasket in Latvia but was deemed surplus to requirements this time.
"It has been a very hard and difficult decision but right now we have four great players in that role. Silvia has worked at a high level," Hernandez said.
Center Sancho Lyttle, meanwhile, is to link up with the national side on Tuesday in Madrid and then fly to Brno with the team.
The recently naturalized Spaniard has missed all of the preparations because of her commitments with the Atlanta Dream, who reached the WNBA Finals before falling to Seattle in three games.
Spain squad: Laia Palau, Marta Fernández, Amaya Valdemoro, Lucila Pascua, Anna Montañana, Laura Nicholls, Cindy Lima, Elisa Aguilar, Nuria Martínez, Anna Cruz, Alba Torrens and Sancho Lyttle.
