    MADRID (ACB) - Caja Laboral’s bid to overhaul Regal Barcelona in Spain’s ACB took a hit on Sunday when Dusko Ivanovic’s team fell 86-85 at Gran Canaria.

    Jaycee Carroll poured in 28 points for Gran Canaria, who went in front to stay when a Marcus Norris basket snapped an 82-82 tie with just over a minute to play.

    Caja Laboral, who are without injured Brazil center Tiago Splitter for a couple of weeks, slumped to 19-4 and now trail Barcelona (21-2) by two games.

    Eighth-place Gran Canaria are one of five sides in Spain with an 11-12 record.

    Barcelona took on Cajasol, the side they edged in the Copa del Rey Quarter-Finals, and grinded out a 71-64 triumph in Seville.

    Spain shooting guard Juan Carlos Navarro had 18 points.

    He was the only Barcelona player to reach double figures.
