VALENCIA (ACB) - Pamesa Valencia have said good-bye to one international basketball star but hello to another.

The ACB club has announced that is has parted with Dimos Dikoudis, a member of Greece’s silver-medal winning side at the 2006 FIBA World Championship, and signed Australia captain Matt Nielsen.

The 30-year-old Nielsen, like Dikoudis, is a power forward and he played for the Boomers this summer at the Olympics.

The former Lietuvos Rytas star has penned a deal for the remainder of this season and next.

He could make his debut with Neven Spahija's team on Sunday against Tau Ceramica, the side Spahija led to last year’s ACB crown.

"I am really happy to have arrived at this club," said Nielsen. "I have heard very good things about the team and all positive.

"This is a great city and it's a great opportunity for me to play again with Spahija. I know certain players and for me this is a wonderful chance and a great experience to be in a league like the ACB."

Nielsen had played under Spahija 2005-06 at Lietuvos Rytas and helped fire the Lithuania giants to a domestic league crown.
