MIES (Switzerland) - Refereeing is an essential part of basketball and FIBA's Equipment & Venue Centre is proud to do its part in helping game officials see every angle of action with partner EVS Broadcast Equipment and their instant replay system.

The EVS Video Analysis System has already been used in multiple major FIBA competitions, where officials have utilized the Xeebra Video Refereeing System to assist them in seeing the key action and also view and analyze angles with greater clarity during replays.

In recent years, the Equipment & Venue Centre has been promoting innovation amongst its partners and has encouraged development in both traditional and new product categories. They have onboarded various technology providers, which have included instant replay, whistle-controlled timing, statistics, video and scouting software.

The Equipment & Venue Centre pushes for integration between different technologies, as well as with the traditional basketball equipment categories. Through this, it aims to provide basketball stakeholders with connected solutions for analytics, video, real-time and personalized data, enhancing the game from officiating to scouting to fan interaction and more.

Globally recognized, EVS is leading the way with live video production technology, providing reliable solutions that capture the excitement and emotions of live events worldwide. They have been a partner with FIBA's Equipment & Venue Centre since 2016 and are part of the software category.

The Xeebra system allows officials or video operators to review actions on the court with the utmost clarity and confidence, thanks to cameras that are placed around the court and arena. Its intuitive touchscreen lets them zoom in with a simple touch-and-pinch gesture to review every angle in detail - quickly, efficiently and in complete synchronization.

FIBA utilized the Xeebra system for the first time during its Olympic Qualifying Tournament 2016 in Turin, Italy, and it was also used at another Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Serbia. Since then Xeebra has been used at FIBA's flagship events, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2018, and continues to be used at various FIBA events.

As a company with 25 years of experience in live production, EVS knows that being approved by the Equipment & Venue Centre is a major benefit, both to assure its own quality as well as improve its visibility around the globe.

"One of EVS's guiding values is excellence. Our premium brand positioning requires superiority at all levels. Being approved by FIBA's Equipment & Venue Centre guarantees quality that brings us one step closer to excellence. We hope that it will give our solution more visibility and the opportunity to convince other leagues to try it out," said Serge Van Herck, Chief Executive Officer at EVS.
