    HERAKLION (2015 FIBA U19 World Championship) - Egypt nearly wasted a 21-point second half lead and went scoreless for 5:40 minutes in the fourth quarter but still managed to beat Iran, 62-59, for their first win in Group A of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship.

    Turning Point: Egypt led 42-21 midway through the third quarter and were up 54-38 with 6:50 minutes to play when the Africans nearly collapsed for good. Iran went on a 13-0 run and then trimmed the deficit to one point twice inside the final minute until Mohamed Abdelrahman hit two free throws with 12 seconds to play and Mohamed Mohamed iced the game with two more foul shots with 0.9 seconds to play.

    Stats Don't Lie: Iran made just 3-of-21 three-pointers for 14 percent and also committed 27 turnovers. Egypt received 34 points off the bench with Iran picking up only 18.

    Game Hero: Mohamed scored 17 points while picking up four rebounds and three assists.

    The Bottom Line: Egypt booked an important first victory in Group A as they next face the United States. Iran dropped to 0-2 and will take on Croatia in their final game of the group.
