    Egypt and Mozambique to stage 2016 FIBA Africa Champions Cups for Men and Women

    CAIRO (2016 FIBA Africa Champions Cup Men & Women) - FIBA Africa on Sunday announced Cairo (Egypt) and Maputo (Mozambique) as the host cities of the 2016 FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Men and Women.

    The FIBA Africa Champions Cup (ACC), which is the premier men’s club competition on the African continent, returns to Egypt for the first time since 2004.

    At the time, hosts Al Ahly SC claimed a Third-place finish, which represented their best record in the ACC history.

    The 12-team tournament will take place later in December.

    Throughout the ACC history, Angolan clubs have become the dominant force winning nine of the last ten editions. Petro Atletico de Luanda won the 2015 ACC edition in Luanda.

    On the other hand, the FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Women (ACCW) will take place from 25November - 4December in the Mozambican capital city of Maputo.

    Ferroviario de Maputo, who finished third last year, have beeb attributed the hosting rights of the tournament.
