France vs Spain - 16.30 CET
France will appear in their ninth successive Semi-Final and their 13th overall, which is more than any other team in the history of the competition. That underlines their rich tradition as they continue on their quest to end a 16-year wait for silverware. They have looked outstanding so far and will rely on their aggressive defense, great shooting form and the key trio of Valeriane Ayayi, Iliana Rupert and Janelle Salaun to propel them to Sunday's Final.
Meanwhile, this will be Spain’s 12th Semi-Final appearance and they have won their last three games in this phase of the competition. Still breathing a sigh of relief after their 14-point comeback victory against Czechia in the Quarter-Finals, Spain will continue to look to veteran legend Alba Torrens who continues to roll back the years. Also, Raquel Carrera has hit her highest gear at the best time and looks like providing the main threat.
Game history: It's actually been four years since the teams met at a major tournament which was the Olympic Women's Basketball Tournament in Tokyo when France won a thriller 67-64. At the FIBA Women's EuroBasket there have been wins for Spain in the 2013, 2017 and 2017 Finals, while they have also met once previously at the Semi-Finals stage, France winning 63-58 in 2015.
Star player: Valeriane Ayayi is loving life at the head of this ambitious and different-look French team. She is using all of her leadership qualities to try and end their 16-year wait for a trophy. Her ability to make clutch plays from long-range or driving to the hoop is something France need. Don't be surprised if she comes up with a big show.
Key matchup: The 2000-born Iliana Rupert of France and Raquel Carrera of Spain have carried a rivalry since they were kids, having battled at youth tournaments and the senior level. Both were great during the Quarter-Finals and now these hugely talented stars will step in the paint knowing how important it is they continue at that level.
X-factor: Will one of the backcourts crack under pressure? Both teams have made a point of squeezing their opponents and forcing turnovers. Indeed France’s opponents are averaging 21 turnovers per game - the highest average against Les Bleues ever. Opponents have had 25 or more turnovers in each of their last two games, after doing it only once in the previous 110 games. Will Spain handle it, or will they turn the tables on France?
