ALEXANDRIA (Egypt) - Six months after leading Angola to their twelfth AfroBasket title, Childe Dundao thrilled his country with an impressive performance.

The reigning AfroBasket Most Valuable Player tied the World Cup Qualifiers record for the most steals in a game, setting a continental record of eight.

This record had previously been held by five players — Ibe Abu (Nigeria), Omar Abada (Tunisia), Gerson Domingos (Angola), Assem Marei (Egypt) and Jean Jacques Nshobousousa — who had all registered seven steals in a game during the tournament.

In addition to this record-breaking performance, Dundao scored 15 points and provided 12 assists to help Angola defeat Uganda 90–68 in their opening Group D match.

"That's how unselfish he is," acknowledged Angola's head coach, Joseph Claros, during the post-match press conference.
