PRAGUE (EuroLeague Women/FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament) - The Czech Republic women's team will be aiming for a third straight Olympic appearance next year.

With Eva Vitecková in the side, no one should be against them making it to London.

Vitecková , who plays for ZVVZ USK Prague in the Czech Republic, competed at the Athens Games in 2004 and in Beijing four years later.

Of late in the EuroLeague Women, the 29-year-old has been underlining her status as one of the best shooters in basketball, especially in crunch time.

On Wednesday night in a game against Lotos Gdynia, Vitecková buried two late three-pointers that led Prague to an 82-77 victory.

With the score 71-71 and just 2:35 from the end, Vitecková connected from behind the arc.

After Aneika Henry pulled Lotos Gdynia level again at 74-74, Vitecková struck again.

With 1:05 remaining, she drilled another three-ball.

Prague stayed in front the rest of the way.

Speaking after Wednesday night's game, Prague coach Lubor Blazek, who is also the coach of the Czech women's national team, said: "Those two threes at the end were crucial."

    Never were truer words spoken.

In three of their last four EuroLeague Women games, Prague have prevailed and Vitecková has been the most valuable player.

At Ros Casares in Valencia, Spain, on November 3, Vitecková poured in 13 of her game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Czechs sprung a 67-59 upset.

She hit three shots from long range in that decisive frame.

Just last week at Uni Seat Györ in Hungary, Prague trailed 68-63 with 3:30 left when Vitecková hit a three-pointer.

Then, with Györ on top 70-68 and just 41 seconds to play, Vitecková again nailed a three-pointer to put her team in front to stay.

The Czechs will be among 12 sides at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament for Women, which is to be staged from June 25 to July 1.

Five places for the London Games will be up for grabs at the qualifying event.
