The naturalized American Willis has built a strong rapport with the Cypriots, playing the entire qualification campaign with the co-hosts and finishing second in scoring and first in rebounds.
The top scorer in the Qualifiers was Konstantinos Simitzis, who shot a blistering 48% on three-pointers, while Nikolaos Stylianou is a veteran leader.
While Willis will be the main attraction for the host team, the country's future lies firmly in the hands of point guard Filippos Tigkas.
The 22-year-old already has been driving the Cyprus team since 2023, while Aeneas Jung, who is 23 years old, and 22-year-old Zayd Muosa are two other future hopefuls.
Cyprus will play their first-ever EuroBasket game on Thursday, August 28, at 17:15 CET, followed by Group C games against Greece, Spain, Georgia and Italy.
