REPRESENTATIVES of FIBA Europe met with the 2007 EuroCup All Star Game organizing committee to discuss preparations for the event scheduled for March 20, in Limassol.
As the event returns to Cyprus for the third consecutive time the FIBA Europe Secretary General Nar Zanolin said for the FIBA Europe official web site: "The All Star Game in Cyprus is getting bigger and bigger each year."

"Last year's event was phenomenal and I am confident that as they have done each year, the Cypriot Basketball Federation together with DTL EKA AEL Limassol will build on previous successes and create an even better event," he added.

Michael Loizides, the president of the local organizing committee, added to Zanolin's statement: "We aim to promote the basketball game's values and ideals as well as enhance basketball internationally. We strive to do this by offering top-class basketball and entertainment."

The format for the game will once again be Europe vs. Rest of the World and it will be transmitted to a targeted 50 countries and FIBA Europe is also planning to stream the game live on their official web site. The Rest of the World team is yet to be defeated by the selected Europeans.

Apart from the game itself, a range of supporting events will be taking place, including coaching and referees clinics, European basketball conference and community relation activities. After failing to show up at the event last year Panayiotis Yiannakis, head coach of the Greek national team, is among those scheduled to take part in the basketball conference, entitled "How to build up and maintain a championship team."

Overweight male cheerleaders who perform at the Chicago Bulls home games, the Matadors, will be returning to Cyprus by popular demand to take part in the All Star Game entertainment.
