    VALDIVIA (FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - Cuba will go for the Gold in the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship for Women by beating Brazil 69-67 in the semifinals played in Valdivia.

    Cuba will go to their second final in the Pre-Olympic Tournament where they lost to Brazil in 2003. This time they go against USA, a team that they faced in the first round and lost 85-79.

    The winner of the gold medal game qualifies directly to the 2008 Olympics while second, third and fourth place teams qualify to the World Pre-Olympic Tournament.

    Yakelyn Plutín led with 28 points while Yayma Boulet netted 13.

    In a losing effort Iziane scored 16 and Micaela 14.

    In the final day Jamaica takes on Mexico (8:30) for seventh place, Canada faces Chile (11:00) for fifth place. Argentina takes on Brazil (13:30) for the Bronze medal and Cuba against USA for Gold (16:00).
