The 23-year-old, who played last season on loan with Spanish giants Barcelona, has signed a one-year contract with Roma.
Ukic will work under Croatian coach Jasmin Repesa in the Italian capital.
In the meantime, Ukic is preparing with his national team for the EuroBasket 2007 which will be held in Spain.
Croatia begin their European tournament against Latvia in Seville on September 3.
