CPV - Alex Nwora to replace Lazare Adingono as national head coach

PRAIA (2009 FIBA Africa Championship) - Mr. Alex Nwora has been appointed on Saturday 04th July 2009 as Cape Verde's national coach. He replaces Mr. Lazare Adingono who is unavailable. The newly appointed head coach met his players who are camping in Praia (Cape Verde).

Mr. Alex Nwora will have to lead the Cape Verde's team to another podium's spot at the Afrobasket 2009 as the team grabbed the Bronze medal at the Afrobasket 2007 played in Angola. Ahead the 25th FIBA Africa Nations Championship for men, the team will have two camps in Praia.

The first camp that already begun will end on 10th July 2009 and the second one will begin at the end of the Games of Lusophonie. A friendly game against a local team will be played on 07th July 2009 in Praia.

Cape Verde alongside with Angola will take part to the Games of Lusophonie to be played from 11th to 20th July 2009 in Centro de Rui Maior in Portugal.
Cape Verde's team will jet out to Tripoli on 2nd August 2009.

Cape Verde as head of Group D will fight against Rwanda, Morocco and Tunisia in the preliminary round of Afrobasket 2009 in Libya.
