Construction of FIBA Africa’s new headquarters set to get underway in Abidjan
ABIDJAN - Initially planned for last November, the ceremony to lay the first stone of FIBA Africa's new headquarters will take place on Tuesday 7 February in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
ABIDJAN - Initially planned for last November, the ceremony to lay the first stone of FIBA Africa's new headquarters will take place on Tuesday 7 February in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire.
The new facility will be built on a 4.000 square metre plot of land on the banks of the Ebrie Lagoon in the Treichville borough.
Cote d'Ivoire's Vice-President Daniel Kablan Duncan will preside over the ceremony that will be witnessed by a number of dignitaries including the country's Minister of Sports, Francois Amichia; FIBA Africa President and FIBA Vice-President Hamane Niang; FIBA Africa Regional Director Alphonse Bile; FIBA Chief Operating Officer Markus Studer; and FIBA Treasurer Ingo Weiss.
FIBA Africa's current office is located in the Plateau, the central business district of the Ivoirian capital.
The new building is expected to be completed by early 2018.
