"I would like to thank FIBA Asia and Coach Amir Eid for giving us the opportunity to participate in this program," he said.
"It is very important for us as basketball coaches to have the knowledge in order to keep our players fit and to avoid injuries," he added.
Another attendee in Ayman Hamza, meanwhile, was glad that the significance of strength and conditioning in the game is finally being promoted in the region.
"I strongly believe that we are not taking this subject seriously, especially in this part of the world where not every team has an S&C coach," he offered.
"I recommend and suggest repeating such courses not only for coaches, but the team managers and everybody involved in the basketball system to attend so they understand the importance of having a strength and conditioning coach in a team."
"This is the only way we can help develop players and grow to the next level or play and compete at a higher level," he furthered.
The SPS program is part of FIBA's larger initiative to bolster the physical training capabilities of local coaches and promote strength and conditioning in basketball.
