    ABIDJAN (3x3) - First Namibia and now Ivory Coast are the host of a 3x3 basketball event in Africa.  Saturday 8 October will see the first ever event of this discipline in Abidjan the suburb Port Bouët.

    TRIO is the organisation that is promoting this event. This competition will officially launch the association's promotional activities in sports.  Their initiative perfectly reflects the FIBA philosophy, which encourages promoters to be pro-active in organising such events.

    TRIO's aim in joining the global 3x3 movement, seeking the status of tournament organisesr by adhering to FIBA's 3x3 guidelines.

    Not only is TRIO the organiser but they will also contribute to the renovation of the courts on which the tournament will be played.  Now Abidjan's players will not only benefit from a day of games but improved playgrounds for years to come.

    The practice of Basketball among the youth will encourage them to participate in healthy recreational activities.

    TRIO also has big plans for 3x3 Basketball in 2012 with the objective of organizing four tournaments in Abidjan, their goal is to find sponsors who will be interested in associating their image to an ever growing sport.

    By supporting 3x3 Basketball they are also looking to become a FIBA partner with aim of being part of FIBA's World Tour in 2012, in which several cities around the globe will be chosen to hold major 3x3 tournaments.
