Abidjan (FIBA Africa Champions Cup for Men) - Two FIBA Africa Zone-3 qualifiers Nigeria’s Niger Potters basketball club and Abidjan Basketball Club (A.B.C) will once again renew their rivalry in Angolan province of Huambo in group-B.
The two sides are drawn in the same group with defending champion, Petro Atletico basketball club of Angola who is ranked topped in the group which also have Stade Malien of Bamako, BC Onatra of Democratic Republic of Congo and Ferroviario Da Beira of Mozambique.
Group-A comprises two Angolan side, host Interclube and 2006 runner-up Primero De Agosto, the group also have A.P.R of Rwanda, ASPAC of Republic of Benin, M.B.C of Guinea and ASB Kauka of Democratic Republic of Congo making up the sixth team of the group with Cabinda as venue.
In a release from the Communications department of FIBA Africa Secretariat immediately after the draw was held Monday at Novotel in Abidjan (Côte d’ivoire) attracted Ivorian Honourable Minister for Youth, Sports & Leisure, Dagobert Banzio alongside FIBA Africa President and Secretary General, Prof. Alain Ekra and Dr Alphonse Bilé.
The technical meeting of the final round of the last championship on the calendar of the continental ruling body for 2007 will hold December 11 in Luanda, Angola while hostilities will begin on December 13 through 22 with Cabinda hosting the classification matches aside playing host to group-A games just as the magnificent Cidadela gymnasium in Luanda host matches from the quarter-finals through the finals.
