DEQING (China) – The 2025 FIBA 3x3 WT Deqing tipped off in thrilling fashion as Chongming and Liman hogged the spotlight on Day One at the 3x3 Basketball Stadium. Both squads swept their pools to assert early dominance and position themselves as title contenders in this leg of the World Tour.
Chongming Go Through
Fourth-seeded Chongming electrified the local crowd with a flawless run through Pool D. Back from a short absence, Nauris Miezis returned in top form, dropping 9 points in a 21-16 win over upstarts Vozdovac. Chongming then battled past Riffa in a gritty 21-17 contest, with Dianliang Zhang scoring 7 points in the crucial victory. Liman Cruise
Third-seeded Liman matched Chongming’s brilliance, finishing Day One unbeaten atop Pool C. The Serbian powerhouse cruised past Shanghai, 21-11, before outlasting compatriots Partizan, 21-16, in a physical encounter. Andreja Milutinovic starred with 9 points in the latter matchup, ensuring Liman advance to the Quarter-Finals with momentum on their side.
Toulouse Turn Up the Heat
Toulouse continued their winning ways, taking full control of Pool B with trademark precision and poise. Franck Seguela set the tone, steering the French squad past Bahrain’s Seef, 20-12, before leading another composed performance in a 21-18 victory over London. Already one of this season’s WT winners, Toulouse look locked in on adding another Masters title to their growing resume.
Ub Set the Standard
Top-seeded Ub once again proved why they remain the gold standard in 3x3 basketball. Strahinja Stojacic drove the Serbian powerhouse to a commanding 21-12 win over Marbella to start the day, then led another efficient effort in a 21-13 triumph against rising squad Baskets Bonn Telekom. Focused and fearless, Ub look poised to chase their seventh World Tour title of the season.
Mayo, Trajkovic Lead Shootout
The Shootout Contest presented by Deqing Tourism and Sports showcased elite marksmanship, with Marbella’s Isaac Mayo and Shanghai’s Vladimir Trajkovic topping the qualifiers at 7 points each. Joining them in the Final are Chongming’s Karlis Lasmanis and London’s Evan Walshe, who both scored 6 points to stay within striking distance.
