    CHN –Xinjiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong advance to semis; DongGuan take lead

    BEIJING (CBA) - Xinjiang Flying Tigers and Guangdong Tigers had it easy, but Jiangsu Dragons needed an Antoine Wright last gasp long-ranger, as all three advanced to the CBA quarter-finals as they secured respective 3-0 series wins.

    In the fourth quarter-final, DongGuan Leopards edged ahead against Zhejiang Cyclones.

    Easy for Xinjiang, Guangdong

    Zhou Peng had 17 points and 8 rebounds and Chen Jianghua a dozen points in Guangdong’s facile 105-82 win against Bayi Rockets. Wang Lei had 16 points for the Rockets, while Veteran Wang Zhizhi had 14 points in what was quite possibly his last appearance in the CBA.

    Xinjiang were well served by Quincy Douby’s double double –33 points and 11 assists – and 5 steals as they cruised to a 102-87 victory over Beijing Ducks, while Mengke Bateer proved a solid supporting act with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. Beijing's Randolph Morris' impressive double-double showing - 22 points and 12 rebounds and 5 assists - proved insufficient to keep his team in the competition.

    Antoine’s fires Jiangsu into semis

    American Antoine Wright had 31 points for the game, but the most important points came with moments left in the game when the 27-year-old sank a three-pointer which cinched the game 96-94 for Jiangsu.

    Frenchman Jerome Moiso had 21 points and 14 rebounds.

    Marcus Williams’ game-high 36 points, and 11 rebounds for Cyclones went in vain. As did Ding Jinhui’s double double of 13 points and a dozen rebounds along with 4 assists and as many steals.

    DongGuan leave it late for series lead

    DongGuan who were locked 1-1 with Zhejiang had their hearts in the mouth before eking out a 94-92 win.

    DongGuan trailed the Golden Lions by eight points at the end of the third quarter before a 27-17 run in the fourth quarter took Brian Goorjian’s team to safety.

    Courtney Simms led DonGuan with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Gu Quan, an upcoming U19 Chinese youngster had 22 points.

    Peter John Ramos had a double game-high of 24 points and 16 rebounds, but in vain. Taipei international Lin Chih-chieh missed a treble double by 4 assists with 22 points and half as many rebounds.

    Game four of this series will be played on Wednesday.

    Xinjiang will take on Jiangsu in the semi-finals while Guangdong await the winners between DongGuan and Golden Lions.
