BEIJING (CBA) - Tang Zhengdong has been fighting through the pain barrier with a knee injury but it didn't prevent the giant center from leading Jiangsu past Shanxi Dongsheng in the latest round of CBA action.
Tang had 28 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and blocked one shot as Jiangsu won 129-121.
The visitors held a 28-27 lead at the end of the first quarter but stretched that to 67-58 by half-time.
They then used the second-half run as a platform for a victory which has left them in third place with a 15-6 record.
In defeat, Brandon Robinson poured in 36 points and grabbed 13 rebounds while also blocking four shots.
Shanxi Dongsheng are struggling. They are 14th in the 16-team lead with six wins from 21 games.
Guangdong and Xinjiang both won their games to remain at the top of the standings with 19 wins and just two defeats.
Zhu Fangyu scored 30 points and corralled 10 rebounds as Guangdong won 104-89 at Beijing.
Mengke Bateer finished with 22 points and 16 rebounds as Xinjiang prevailed 102-90 over Shanghai.
Liu Wei led his team in defeat with 20 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Dongguan and Liaoning each improved to 13-8 and they occupy fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Anthony Myles scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Dongguan won 126-112 over Shanxi Zhongyu.
Liaoning were big winners, 125-104 over Yunnan.
Liu Xiangtao had a team-high 20 points in victory while Yunnan, who are playing without Dontae Jones after his decision to return to the United States.
Nigel Dixon led Yunnan with 34 points and 18 rebounds but he also turned the ball over eight times.
Zhejiang Wanma lost 104-94 at home to Bayi, who got 26 points from Li Nan.
A strong third-quarter propelled Fujian to a 96-84 win at Zhejiang Guangsha.
Fujian, who got 28 points from Liu Yudong, outscored their hosts 32-15 in the 10 minutes after half-time.
Defensively, Lv Xiaoming had a big day for Fujian by coming up with seven steals.
Herve Lamizana had 31 points and nine rebounds and blocked four shots as Shandong beat Jilin 119-99.
