BEIJING (CBA) - Shanxi Dongsheng beat Yunnan 130-100 in China on Wednesday night with Brandon Robinson scoring a game-high 32 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

But the sixth victory in 17 games for Shanxi wasn't enough to leave smiles on the faces of some fans, who threw missiles onto the court during the contest and after to protest what they deemed rough play by Yunnan's American star, Dontae Jones.

The contact was so physical that the CBA's leading scorer this season and former Boston Celtic Jones almost came to fisticuffs with Shanxi player Liu Jiulong in the first quarter.

In the fourth period, hard play between Jones and Hu Guang led to the latter falling to the floor.

The referee called no foul and that inaction drew the ire of fans, who began to throw objects onto the court.

Yan Xingshu, a Yunnan teammate of Jones, said: "The fans threw things onto the court about five or six times. It was chaotic.

"I've been playing basketball for so many years and witnessed riots among supporters, but what happened this time is really rare."

The league's disciplinary boss are to investigate the matter.

Director of the CBA management department, Hao Guohua, confirmed: "We are investigating the issue at the moment. We will not make any decision until we see the official game report."

Shanxi received a small fine earlier this season after a home game against Fujian when fans threw bottles onto the court.

The decision will not be made until next week, according to Hao Guohua.

"We will make a proper punishment after full investigation," he added.

As for the game itself, Shanxi Dongsheng raced into a 28-21 lead by the end of the first quarter and stretched that to 62-42 by half-time.

They added 10 more points to their lead by the end of the third quarter and won convincingly.

Jones finished with 29 points and seven rebounds in defeat.

Guangdong and Xinjiang still lead the league with 15-2 records after claiming big wins.

Big center Mengke Bateer had 22 points and 17 rebounds, and also blocked six shots as Xinjiang won 98-85 over Jilin.

Babacar Camara poured in 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in defeat.

Guangdong got 17 points, six boards and four steals from Zhang Zhe as they thrashed Fujian, 101-77.

Third-placed Jiangsu suffered a 103-93 defeat at Beijing to fall to 12-5.

Zhang Yunson and Men Wei each scored 21 points for Beijing.

Dongguan improved to 11-6 and are in fourth place after a 113-97 triumph over Bayi, whose struggles on the road continued despite the return of national team star Wang Zhizhi.

Wang had 35 points and seven rebounds but Bayi, the defending champions, lost for the eighth time away from home.

Anthony Myles scored 23 points and corralled 10 rebounds for Dongguan.

Fifth-placed Liaoning won 96-91 over Zhejiang Wanma, Bian Qiang leading the winners with 21 points.

Shandong rolled to an 89-75 win over Zhejiang Guangsha after jumping out to a 26-16 lead by the end of the opening quarter.

The other game saw 36-point Xu Yong fire Shanghai to a 115-100 triumph over Shanxi Zhongyu.

Xu was 10 of 12 inside the arc and two of three beyond it while also making 10 of 14 free throws in the top scoring performance of the round.
