BEIJING (WCBA) - Shenyang Golden Lions brought their stupendous season to a triumphant conclusion with a 65-64 win in the fifth and decisive game of the WCBA Finals against Guangdong Dolphins on Tuesday.
China star Lijie Miao scored inside and then made good on a pair of free-throws in the dying moments of the game to clinch the issue for Shenyang and help them win the series 3-2.
The 30-year-old finished with 22 points and was deservedly named Finals MVP. She was also the regular season MVP after leading her team to the best record in the league.
Shenyang got balanced scoring from Zhao Shuang (13 points), Zhang Han Lan (11) and Song Liwei (10) in the win.
Guangdong, who had done well to bring parity to the Finals twice, faltered when push came to shove.
USA forward Swin Cash had 22 points and 13 rebounds while Qi Siyue chipped in with 14 points but no other player on the team scored in double digits.
