CHN - It's the Bayi blues after another defeat

SHANDONG (CBA) - Defending champions Bayi lost a fourth straight game to slump to 7-4 after going down 109-103 to Shandong on Wednesday night, despite 38 points from Chinese national team center Wang Zhizhi.

Wang also pulled down 11 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Herve Lamizama's 31 points and 10 rebounds led Shandong to 4-6.

Three sides have now pulled clear at the top of the table with Guangdong, Jiangsu and Xinjiang all winning to improve to 9-2.

Guangdong won 95-87 at Jilin, thanks largely to 22 points from both Zhu Fangyu and Jason Dixon.

Jiangsu thrashed strugglers Shanghai 131-94 with Yi Li notching 23 points and six rebounds.

David Jackson poured in 39 points to power Xinjiang to a 114-88 win over Shanxi Zhongyu.

Zhejiang Guangsha secured only their third win of the season with a 140-115 win over Yunnan in an incredible game which saw Dontae Jones score 53 points and still end up on the losing side.

Thompson Garnett was the dominant force for Zhejiang, contributing 47 points, 23 rebounds, six assists and three steals.

Dongguan beat Shanxi Dongsheng 106-103 with Zhang Kai scoring 29 points, Fujian beat Liaoning 85-76 in a low scoring game and Beijing secured a 118-114 win after two overtime periods to go 6-5, Michael Fey leading the way with 40 points.
