CHN - Guangdong, Liaoning set pace in CBA

BEIJING (CBA) - Guangdong and Liaoning preserved their perfect starts to the CBA season to remain at the top of the league standings after round three on Friday.

Both sides have tipped-off the current campaign in impressive fashion, boasting a 3-0 record.

Guangdong stand at the summit of the table after convincingly brushing aside Dongguan 119-94.

Michael Fay put up brave resistance for the hosts notching up 25 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat, but a 23-point contribution from Terrence Greene wrapped up victory for Guangdong.

They share the lead with Liaoning after their narrow 103-99 victory over Shandong.

Herve Lamizana scored 33 points and hauled down 17 rebounds for the gracious losers, but they were denied victory thanks in part to a 28-point haul from Robert Jackson.

Former league leaders, Jilin, suffered their first defeat of the season going down 87-78 to Jiangsu.

Tang Zhengdong was the hero for the home side with 35 points and 12 rebounds.

Shanghai also lost their 100% record, losing 102-96 to Zhejiang Wanma, despite a massive 39-point tally from Reggie Okosa.

Yunnan remain rooted to the bottom of the table after their 88-84 defeat at the hands of Fujian.

Shanxi Zhongyu are also still searching for their first win of the season after losing 107-92 to Xinjiang, as are Zhejiang Guangsha following their 80-68 defeat to Bayi.

Beijing beat Shanxi 100-76 in the day's only other game.
