DaJuan Tate scored 40 points and pulled down six rebounds for Jilin as they pushed last season's runners-up all the way.
Xinjiang managed to keep the pressure up with a 114-99 win over Shanxi Zhongyu to go 22-4, David Jackson leading the way with 24 points.
Jiangsu sit third on 19-7 after a 110-91 win at struggling Shanghai. Tang Zhengdong weighed in with 28 points and 17 rebounds.
Shanxi Dongsheng's miserable season continued with a 108-99 defeat against Dongguan for whom Mike Harris poured in 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Defending champions Bayi suffered their 10th defeat of the season, going down 103-102 to Shandong after overtime. Wang Zhizhi scored 37 points for the hosts but Sun Jie poured in 35 points to steer Shandong to victory.
Beijing thrashed Zhejiang Wanma 89-69, Liaoning beat Fujian 97-89 and Zhejiang Guangsha secured a 124-114 win at Yunnan.
