BEIJING (FIBA Asia Championship) - China have named their final roster for the FIBA Asia Championship after wrapping up a three-game series against an Australian All-Star team with a 92-73 win.

Chen Jiang Hua, Zhou Peng and Ding Jin Hui are the three players who have been cut from the squad to whittle it down to the final 12.

With Yao Ming missing through injury, the squad list is highlighted by Yi Jianlian and Wang Zhizhi, both of whom had an outstanding series against the Australians.

In the final game on Saturday night, Wang had 15 points and six rebounds, while Yi had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Wang Shipeng also reached double figures with 14 points, while Zhang Qingpeng had 11 and Li Xiaoxu 10.

China will head to the Asia Championship with the aim of securing a place at the 2010 FIBA World Championship.

Sun Yue will also be hoping to use the tournament to put himself in the shop window after he was released this weekend by the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 6ft 9in guard played 10 games for the Lakers but could not find regular playing time.

"With the talent level and depth of our roster, the situation simply doesn't provie an opportunity for Sun Yue to get the chance to play that he deserves," said Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak.
