LONDON (Olympic Test Event/FIBA Asia Championship) - China have been ravaged by injuries this summer as they prepare for next month's FIBA Asia Championship and they were dealt a further blow with the loss of Wang Shipeng to a broken right wrist on Tuesday.

Wang suffered the injury in the first half of the 71-43 defeat against Australia at the Olympic Test Event in London.

The 28-year-old guard drove hard to the hoop and, after crashing to the ground, had a player from Australia fall on his hand.

In London, China are without eight of their 12 players from last year's FIBA World Championship.

They hope to get most of them back, but it is unlikely Wang will return in time for the FIBA Asia Championship, which the Chinese host in Wuhan from 15 to 25 September.

"The doctors are saying he needs four to six weeks so we may not see him in Wuhan," China head coach Bob Donewald Jr said of the veteran guard.
