    BEIJING (CBA) - Bayi avoided a three-game sweep in their quarter-final showdown with Liaoning on Sunday after a 96-95 triumph - the third consecutive game between the two sides to be decided by a single point.

    Bayi, the defending champions, got 21 points and seven rebounds from Mo Ke while Chinese international Wang Zhizhi, who is likely to figure prominently for his country at the Beijing Olympics, scored 17 and pulled down eight rebounds.

    The other series that will go to a fourth game is between Fujian and Jiangsu.

    Fujian trail 2-1 after a 110-102 defeat to Jiangsu, whose giant center Tang Zhengdong poured in 30 points and hauled in 14 rebounds.

    The fourth games in those series will be played on Wednesday.

    Guangdong and Dongguan each won all three games in their respective series.

    Guangdong needed overtime but saw off the determined challenge of Guangsha, 112-108 to advance to the last four while Dongguan advanced after a 111-97 win over Shangdong.
