BEIJING (CBA) - Bayi maintained their unbeaten start in the Chinese CBA league with an 89-81 victory over Zhejiang in round six.
It was a close contest throughout, but Bayi moved 44-37 ahead at half-time and managed to hold onto that advantage until the final buzzer.
Wang Zhizhi and Wang Lei scored 20 points apiece for the winners - the former also hauling down 12 rebounds - while Luo Zhi poured in 20 points for Zhejiang in a losing cause.
Bayi now hold a 6-0 record in the CBA and sit at the top of the table above Jiangsu and Xinjiang, who are both 5-1 after wins on Friday.
Ryan Forehan-Kelly scored a game-high 41 points to help Jiangsu post a 115-103 result against Shanxi Dongsheng.
Jiangsu held a 56-37 advantage at the interval before holding off a second-half fightback from Dongsheng, for whom Brandon Robinson contributed 27 points and 10 rebounds.
Third-placed Xinjiang also survived a late comeback from Shanghai to seal a 115-104 victory, in which David Jackson poured in 31 points for the winners.
Also on Friday, Anthony Myles scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to help Dongguan claim a 115-96 win over Shanxi Zhongyu.
Guangdong ran out 95-85 victors against Beijing with Wang Shipeng scoring 27 points.
Zhejiang Guangsha sit at the bottom of the standings after a 112-98 defeat to Fujian, despite a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds from Garnett Thompson.
And 37 points from Dontae Jones failed to help Yunnan, who slipped to a 116-91 loss at home to Liaoning.
