BEIJING (CBA) - Bayi ended Guangdong’s three-year reign in China’s CBA by beating them 4-1 in the best-of-seven finals in 2007.

Recent form suggests defending champions Bayi will do well just to get to the finals this time.

The last regular-season games were played at the weekend and Bayi, who beat Fujian, finished seventh.

Only the top eight sides advance to the post-season.

Guangdong and Xinjiang each won for the 26th time to storm into the play-offs as the top two seeds.

Here is a look at the 30th round of action.

Giant center Tang Zhengdong of Jiangsu has been slowed by knee problems this season but he looked fit as a fiddle against Dongguan when pouring in 47 points on 17 of 32 shooting from the floor.

He also buried 13 of 15 shots at the line as Jiangsu held on for a 127-124 triumph.

Dongguan faced a large deficit at the start of the final quarter and outscored their hosts 39-25 to make a game of it but they ultimately came up short.

Jiangsu improved to 21-9, good enough for third place while Dongguan settled for sixth place at 18-12.

Dongguan had their own superstar, Mike Harris, who finished with 46 points and 26 rebounds.

Aaron McGhee scored 32 points to lead Xinjiang past Yunnan 120-108, but that wasn’t enough to allow the winners to leapfrog Guangdong into first place.

Jason Dixon had 19 points and seven rebounds as Guangdong posted a 102-73 win over Shanghai.

Shandong are fourth after a 99-90 win over Jilin, who got 24 points and three steals from Du Jiang and 20 points and 15 rebounds from Babacar Camara.

Liaoning finished in fifth at 19-11 after recording a 100-90 triumph over Beijing.

Yang Ming scored 30 points for the winners while Nigerian international Olumide Oyedeji led Beijing with 30 points and 14 boards.

Wang Zhizhi had 30 points, 11 rebounds and four steals as Bayi won 94-79 over Fujian, who came in eighth place.

Shanxi Dongsheng suffered a 112-105 defeat at home to Zhejiang Wanma.

Zhejiang Guangsha rolled to a 116-105 win over Jilin.
