The FIBA men's 2009 Stankovic Basketball Continental Cup will be held from August 28 to 31 in China's Kunshan city of Jiangsu province.

Defending champion Angola, Australia, Turkey and host China will take part in the Cup, which was inaugurated in 2005 and played every year in China.

China, who will play without their NBA star Yao Ming for his foot injury, will get an opportunity to take revenge on Angola for last year's 71-72 defeat.

The host, coached by Chinese new coach Guo Shiqiang, could be helped by Yi Jianlian and Sun Yue, both are playing at the NBA.

"Yi and Sun should play the Cup with their national team unless they have some special reasons," said Xin Lancheng, vice president of the Chinese Basketball Association.

Kunshan was the host of the second Stankovic Continental Cup in 2006.
