Wuhan (CHINA) - China return to dominant form, defeating Thailand 22 - 7 in the final to win the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Wuhan stop 2024 on June 29 - 30.

    The winner: China

It was back to business for China in the Women’s series as they came out swinging in Wuhan. With Lili Wang at the helm again, they swept past their competition in the Pool phase. A  21 - 11 win against Chinese Taipei with 9 points and 6 rebounds from their talisman guard. They followed it up by handling business in easy fashion against a competitive Thailand side. 6 points and 7 rebounds from Mingling Chen, followed by 8 points and 4 rebounds by Wang led to the 22 - 6 result.

Ji Yuan Wan took over in their final Pool game against the Philippines, a whopping 13 points to close out the 21 - 13 victory. A collective team effort in the Semi-Final led to a 17 - 12 win against China U23 as China booked their second final appearance of the season.

    The runner-up: Thailand

Thailand have been making noise in the competition over the last few stops, and they looked hungry to deliver in Wuhan.

They started off with a statement 15 - 12 win over the Philippines. Rattiyakorn Udomsuk, who has been electric all season, started off hot with 8 points and 8 rebounds. They suffered a tough loss to China next but bounced back with a 13 - 10 result over Chinese Taipei. Udomsuk took over yet again with 11 points.

She continued her red-hot form in the Quarter-Final where she put up 13 in a huge win over local side Wuhan Sanfran. They matched up against the contending Mongolia in the Semis, and it was business as usual for Udomsuk. 12 points and a 21 - 16 win matched them up for a rematch against China in the final.

    The final

    China 22 - 7 Thailand

A rematch from their Pool phase game, the result stayed the same as China remained unshakable. Kwanjira Panted and Udomsuk put up early points but a collective effort put China out of view early.

Buckets from Wang and Chen started proceedings before Wan and Huang joined in on the barrage. 3 minutes in, the score was already at 10 - 3. It was academic from there as Kun Huang called game with a two.

Just like that, China are back to winning ways.
