SANTIAGO (Chilean Dimayor) - Liceo Mixto sealed their first-ever Chilean Dimayor league title by completing a 4-1 series victory over Universidad de Concepcion in the play-off finals on Wednesday night.
Kei Madison poured in 24 points, Terence Hill scored 20 and Patricio Briones added 17 as Liceo Mixto won 95-85.
Patrick Saez, one of Liceo’s star players, said: "They said we were a team that only knew how to attack and didn’t know how to play as a team.
"We proved we are supportive players and, when we play defense, nobody can beat us."
Liceo, wholost in the title series to Provincial Osorno last year, had an excellent start this time, winning Game One 77-68 behind Madison’s 15 points with Patricio Briones also scoring 14.
Liceo then took a 2-0 lead the following day with a 92-74 triumph with 23-point Saez leading the way. Madison also scored 21 in that win.
Universidad de Concepcion claimed the third game 91-78 back at home but on Sunday, Liceo thumped them 90-81 before starting their title celebrations with Wednesday’s success.
