SANTIAGO (2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women) - Head coach Cristian Santander announced the twelve players that will represent Chile in the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship for Women to be played from September 23-27 in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, Brazil.
The main loss of this team is veteran Valentina Aragonese who is recovering from an injury. At the same time two players from the U17 national team join the team, they are Fernanda Serrano and Javiera Morales.
Chilean women's national team: Fernanda Serrano, Catalina de la Quintana, Javiera Novión, Paula Moya, Paola Naranjo, Carolina Curaz, Javiera Morales, Romina Valenzuela, Ziomara Morrison, Tatiana Gòmez, Daniela Troncoso and Claudia Leiva.
Their trip to Sao Paulo is scheduled for September 16 where they will play friendly games and a few days later is their flight to Cuiabá, host of the tournament that qualifies the top three teams for the 2010 FIBA World Championship for Women in the Czech Republic.
