SAN SALVADOR (El Salvador) – Canada have been a fixture on the proverbial FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup women's podium, but after falling to the United States in last year's Final, they have unfinished business in San Salvador.
With two golds, two bronzes and one silver across their AmeriCup history, Canada have never finished outside the top three. Now, they are determined to add another title to that collection and reclaim the crown from their North American rivals.
Paige Crozon will once again headline the Canadian campaign. The AmeriCup's all-time leading women's scorer returns alongside Kat Plouffe, giving Canada two holdovers from last year's squad and a valuable foundation of experience and chemistry.
Michelle Plouffe also returns for her third AmeriCup appearance, while Cassandra Brown is set to make her debut. With a blend of familiar faces and fresh energy, Canada will look to turn their collective experience into another championship run.
Their FIBA 3x3 Women's Series 2026 campaign already delivered encouraging results, with Canada winning the stops in Shanghai and Takasaki. However, missing the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026 will give the team extra motivation to respond on the continental stage.
The opportunity is certainly there. The United States enter the AmeriCup with an entirely new women's roster, while Canada can lean on established chemistry and players who know what it takes to compete for the title. Of course, the Canadians will still need to deliver when it matters most, with the defending champions standing between them and redemption.
Can Crozon and company turn their Women's Series momentum into AmeriCup gold? Canada have the pedigree, the experience and the motivation. Now, they must put it all together in San Salvador.
