ZARAGOZA (2016 FIBA U17 Women's World Championship) - Latvia are still searching for a first-ever win at the FIBA U17 Women's World Championship after a painful overtime loss to Canada.

Latvia looked to be on course to write a historic note but were undone 60-57 and largely because of an outstanding performance by Laeticia Amihere. The Canadian forward recorded a phenomenal double-double of 18 points and 21 rebounds - as well as a sensational seven blocked shots, to help her team to their first victory.

France also racked up their maiden triumph in Zaragoza after they strolled to a one-sided 65-27 success against Mexico.

Australia moved to 2-0 and looked like contenders as they handed China a first defeat with an eye-catching 66-41 success. Some nice shooting from Samantha Simons was a highlight after she scored a smart 16 points.
