    Canada announce final roster for 2015 FIBA Americas Championship

    MEXICO (2015 FIBA Americas Championship) - Canada have announced their 12-player roster for the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship which tips off in Mexico City on Monday.

    "I'm pleased with the team's progress. We showed toughness and willingness to win," said head coach Jay Triano after the team went 4-0 to capture the title at the 2015 Jenaro "Tuto" Marchand Continental Cup in San Juan, Puerto Rico this past week.

    "We still have things to work on and continue to prepare for the real test in Mexico - qualifying for the Olympics."

    At the FIBA Americas Championship, Canada will play in Group B and open their campaign against Argentina.

    They will also face Cuba, Venezuela and Puerto Rico.

    Canada are aiming to book a spot in the 2016 Rio Olympics or claim a place in one of the three FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQTs) to be staged next year.

    Canada final roster for 2015 FIBA Americas Championship: Anthony Bennett, Aaron Doornekamp, Melvin Ejim, Brady Heslip, Cory Joseph, Andrew Nicholson, Kelly Olynyk, Dwight Powell, Robert Sacre, Phil Scrubb, Nik Stauskas and Andrew Wiggins.
